The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) is a new physical fitness test adopted by the United States Army to replace the previous Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). It evaluates soldiers’ physical readiness for combat by assessing their strength, power, endurance, and agility through six events: deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, leg tuck, and two-mile run. The test is age- and gender-neutral, scored on a 600-point scale, and crucial for determining a soldier’s job-related physical readiness.
The ACFT is challenging, requiring specific training for each event. The Army provides a comprehensive training program focusing on enhancing strength, power, endurance, and agility. The ACFT Score Chart Calculator aids soldiers in tracking their progress and evaluating their performance on each event.
